Stuart Gore, 1905-1984, was a passionate photographer. In his early career he operated Perth's first same day photo developing business in Market St, Fremantle. With the Depression severly affecting his business, Gore was invited to work as an aerial photographer for Western Mining's aerial survey of the Goldfields. With the outbreak of World War Two, Gore enlisted in the RAAF joining the Aerial Reconnaissance Unit based in Darwin. Gore returned to Kalgoorlie where he purchased T.F. Mackay's photographic studios. In 1948, Gore together with Jan Kennedy travelled the borders of Western Australia for 8 months in Gore's car, Annabel. Gore was also an accomplished film maker and author |
